Photography is both a hobby and a passion for me. It is a form of expression, an escape and a method of catharsis. In the words of Thomas Merton, "Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."
As my gallery no doubt illustrates, I am a birder (bird watcher) as well. I find birds to be fascinating creatures, and I find their company to be quite peaceful. The songs and calls of birds, along with the beauty of nature, compliment the experience of my photographic expeditions.
While I prefer going to parks and nature reserves, I won't hesitate to photograph birds along my walks in the city. I have an interest in urban birds as well, so you may find photos of common birds in usual settings. I admire their ability to adapt.
I also love taking pictures of scenery, capturing my favorite musicians at concerts and pretty much anything else that catches my eye.
Whether I am taking photos of birds, wildlife or nature, it all serves as artistic therapy. Photographing things that I find beautiful or that catch my eye is my way of "stopping to smell the roses," as it were. I can literally say that continuing my photographic passion is "what the doctor ordered."
